The Song Academy Young Songwriter 2021 Competition #SAYS2021 is open for entries until March 31st 2021.
This is a great opportunity for all of you who are musical and creative. The competition is for 8-18 year olds, so only children at Rushall in Year 3 and above and aged 8-11 are allowed to take part if they would like to.
There are some great prizes available, including a recording studio session and musical equipment worth £1,000. You will also have the chance to be heard and connect with young songwriters worldwide.

Walsall Music Hub are very pleased to announce the launch of their first online music competition for all.
At the bottom of this blog post, you will see a flyer with all of the details about the competition. You can also visit Walsall Music Hub’s website, which features full details of the event.
There are no age restrictions or categories and the age of the student will be taken into consideration during the judging.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is our January composer of the month. He is very famous in the world of musical theatre and has been referred to as ‘The Godfather of musicals’.
Year 2 were set a home learning task to research into Andrew Lloyd Webber and make a poster, video or fact file.
Zach has made a fantastic poster here. He really enjoyed watching lots of clips and songs from some of the musicals he has written in the past. This is an excellent piece of homework Zach, well done!
Felicity wrote down three facts that she had found out about Andrew Lloyd Webber. She really enjoyed researching into one of his most famous musicals ‘Cats’.
